kon'serv is part of what is now? - an art city project taking place in burslem throughout summer 2018. It intends to rethink and reframe our perceptions of changing urban areas.
kon'serv's starting point is stoke-0n-trent city council's burslem conservation area appraisal from 2011 - the last conservation appraisal to be performed in the town. It identifies locations which have 1. positive views and 2. negative views >>
This website and the accompanying display in burslem (15-16 September) considers the restrictions of labelling and language. it reevaluates the locations listed on the council's map of sites with "negative views" as spaces of value.
